Synopsis of Thunder Horizon: Synopsis of Thunder Horizon: A deadly menace stalks the shadows of the lands to the north, stirring the winds of war. Farther south, the power of the Teveren Empire spreads with every passing day, empowered by dark sorcery. Formidable legions bent on conquest are on the march, slavery and subjugation following in their wake.

Within the rising maelstrom, Rayden Valkyrie has returned to the Gessa, to stand with the tribe that once took her into their care as a child. No amount of jewels or coin can sway her, nor can the great power of her adversaries intimidate her.

With a sword blade in her right hand and axe in her left, Rayden confronts foes both supernatural and of flesh and blood. Horrific revelations and tremendous risks loom; some that will see Rayden’s survival in the gravest of peril.

Seventh Star Studios Announces Sól Geirsdóttir for Rayden Valkyrie Role in TV Pilot

Seventh Star Studios is proud to announce the casting of Sól Geirsdóttir to bring the heroic Rayden Valkyrie character to life onscreen in the TV pilot Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart.

Sól will star as Rayden Valkyrie, an iconic warrior in a dark age who leads a mercenary war band to rescue a group of captives destined for slave markets. When some of the surviving raiders take a pair of female captives with them, seeking escape into an ancient forest said to harbor deadly perils, Rayden does not hesitate to pursue them. In the shadows of the forest, Rayden and her companions must overcome monstrous threats and deadly sorcery to prevail.

“Sól Geirsdóttir is our Rayden,” Director/Screenwriter Stephen Zimmer said. “During our extensive search, we have seen many very talented actresses, but Sól conveyed the right kind of presence needed for this pivotal character. Sól has a passion for the genre, for history, and loves a good sword fight. I know that Sól is dedicated to bringing the best performance possible to the screen, and I am absolutely confident that audiences are going to love Sól and the Rayden Valkyrie character when they see this show. Rayden Valkyrie is my favorite character to write, and I am thrilled that Sól will be the one to portray her onscreen.”

Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart represents the first onscreen portrayal of the Rayden Valkyrie character. The character’s literary debut occurred in Stephen Zimmer’s sword and sorcery novel Heart of a Lion. The story in the TV pilot is not an adaptation of the novel, but rather an original storyline envisioned to be the foundation for a series of episodes filled with Rayden Valkyrie adventures.

Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart is scheduled for production late spring on locations in Kentucky and represents the first visual media project for Seventh Star Studios, a division of Seventh Star Press, a publisher of speculative fiction based out of Lexington, Kentucky.

More about Sól Geirsdóttir: Sól Geirsdóttir made her stage debut at the age of 13, performing traditional norwegian folk songs. Since then she has been creating and producing music with her band Vǫluspá, who will be releasing a full album in 2017. Sól has also appeared in several theatrical plays and was given a part as “Jora” in the TV pilot ‘Rangers: A Shadow Rising’ in 2014. She has worked with Ron Newcomb, Ian Hencher, John Wells, Marita Tathariel and many more.

Sól is an alternative model and has been featured in several magazines such as Fae Magazine and Dark Beauty. She currently attends the University of Oslo pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In addition to this, she is a trained vocalist, an accomplished belly dancer and a seemstress specialized in Viking Era clothing. Sól is thrilled to embark on the epic journey of playing the role of “Rayden Valkyrie” in the Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart TV Pilot.

Synopsis of Bedlam Unleashed:

In the tradition of Robert E. Howard, Fritz Lieber, Stephen Lawhead and George R. R. Martin.

Hulking Norse berserker Erik Bedlam lives and fights with a piece of steel lodged in his skull. Ever hallucinating the netherworld, his unpredictable behavior provides no end of challenges to his traveling companion, mercenary Alanis Johansson. After the battle of Clontarf in 1014 A.D., the two launch into a series of bizarre circumstances and horrors that tackle their courage, meddle, and strength.

Through these warriors, thrown into a series of horrific events in what seemed like pure chance, cruel fate starts to form into a design. Though hopefully guided by Odin, the All-Father, when contacted via the power of the one-eyed mage Kendrick Prescott a greater mystery awaits. The trio moves onward, facing dragons, neo-druids, cannibal Highlanders, vampire dwarves, and a Lovecraftian horror, to name but a few obstacles. Through it all, Kendrick proves to be not all he appears, but uses the mercenaries as his vehicle to cross the land.

Alanis, also a man of secrets, struggles under so many horrors, but the unpredictable, jovial and violent Bedlam staggers through it all, be it episodes of demonic possession, jousts, or hallucinatory substances.

Painted on a canvas of actual historical events, the body count rises as the travelers make their way down the coast of England, seeking passage off the island.

A story of heroism, malevolence, and ferocity; BEDLAM UNLEASHED shows how courage can propel individuals beyond the borders of the human spirit.

Come trod through the bloody footprints of history and hold on tight to one’s self and one’s soul.

Cover Reveal For New Edition of the Reel Dark Anthology from Editors L. Andrew Cooper and Pamela Turner!

Seventh Star Press is proud to reveal the cover art by Aaron Drown of Aaron Drown Design for the new edition of the Reel Dark anthology from editors L. Andrew Cooper and Pamela Turner.  With a cinema theme and a mix of speculative fiction tales that include suspense, horror, science fiction, fantasy, and even poetry, readers will find this anthology a unique and captivating reading experience.

This edition features 2 brand new stories, one from bestselling horror author Michael West and one from acclaimed author and editor Alexander S. Brown.  eBook and print editions are set for release in the first week of May.

Synopsis of Reel Dark: Welcome to a macabre cinema for the imagination, to twisted tales projected not on a movie screen but on the page. In Reel Dark you’ll find suspense, horror, science fiction, and fantasy in fiction and poetry by authors ranging from new voices to bestsellers. From the battle for recognition between a child actress and a vengeful, long-forgotten film star in “Whatever Happened to Peggy…Who?” to a hapless artist whose talent propels him into a nightmare of jealousy and revenge in “The Dreamist,” the authors have created worlds filled with madness and twisted desires. Where the lines between reality and fantasy blur, where films flicker at 24 frames per second, we catch a glimpse of strangers’ dreams and nightmares. As David Lynch puts it, “This whole world is wild at heart and weird on top.” As Karen Head writes in her poem “Amnesia,” responding to Lynch, “In the movies / everything is illusion.” But with cameras everywhere, how do you know whether you’re in a movie?

About the Editors:

L. Andrew Cooper: L. Andrew Cooper scribbles horror: novels Burning the Middle Ground and Descending Lines as well as anthologies of experimental shorts Leaping at Thorns (2014 /2016) and Peritoneum (2016). He also co-edited the anthology Imagination Reimagined (2014). His book Dario Argento (2012) examines the maestro’s movies from the 70s to the present. Cooper’s other works on horror include his non-fiction study Gothic Realities (2010), a co-edited textbook, Monsters (2012), and recent essays that discuss 2012’s Cabin in the Woods (2014) and 2010’s A Serbian Film (2015). His B.A. is from Harvard, Ph.D. from Princeton. Louisville locals might recognize him from his year-long stint as WDRB-TV’s “movie guy.” Find him at amazon.com/author/landrewcooper, facebook.com/landrewcooper, and landrewcooper.com.

Pamela Turner: Pamela Turner’s short paranormal suspense novels include Death Sword, a Chanticleer Blue Ribbon Paranormal Awards 2013 finalist, Exterminating Angel, The Ripper’s Daughter, and Malice and Mayhem: Tales of the Macabre. Her short dark suspense story, “Family Tradition” (MuseItUp Publishing), was a finalist in the EPIC 2014 EBook Awards, and her short screenplay “Cemetery” placed second in The Writers Place Short/Teleplay screenplay competition. About Gray Widow’s Walk
“The only thing in this world you can truly control is yourself.”
Janey Sinclair’s ability to teleport has always been a mystery to her. She tried for years to ignore it, but when tragedy shatters her life, Janey’s anger consumes her. She hones her fighting skills, steals a prototype suit of military body armor, and takes to the streets of Atlanta, venting her rage as the masked vigilante dubbed “the Gray Widow” by the press.
But Janey’s power, and her willingness to use it, plunges her into a conflict on a much grander scale than she had anticipated.
Soon she encounters Simon Grove, a bloodthirsty runaway with a shapeshifting ability gone horribly wrong…
Garrison Vessler, an ex-FBI agent and current private defense contractor, who holds some of the answers Janey’s been searching for…
And Tim Kapoor, the first person in years with a chance of breaking through Janey’s emotional shell—if she’ll let him.
But as Janey’s vigilantism gains worldwide attention, and her showdown with Simon Grove draws ever closer, the reason for her augmented abilities—hers and all the others like her—begins to reveal itself. Because, high above the Earth, other eyes are watching. And they have far-reaching plans…
