Cover Reveal For New Edition of the Reel Dark Anthology from Editors L. Andrew Cooper and Pamela Turner!

Seventh Star Press is proud to reveal the cover art by Aaron Drown of Aaron Drown Design for the new edition of the Reel Dark anthology from editors L. Andrew Cooper and Pamela Turner.  With a cinema theme and a mix of speculative fiction tales that include suspense, horror, science fiction, fantasy, and even poetry, readers will find this anthology a unique and captivating reading experience.
This edition features 2 brand new stories, one from bestselling horror author Michael West and one from acclaimed author and editor Alexander S. Brown.  eBook and print editions are set for release in the first week of May. Synopsis of Reel Dark: Welcome to a macabre cinema for the imagination, to twisted tales projected not on a movie screen but on the page. In Reel Dark you’ll find suspense, horror, science fiction, and fantasy in fiction and poetry by authors ranging from new voices to bestsellers. From the battle for recognition between a child actress and a vengeful, long-forgotten film star in “Whatever Happened to Peggy...Who?” to a hapless artist whose talent propels him into a nightmare of jealousy and revenge in “The Dreamist,” the authors have created worlds filled with madness and twisted desires. Where the lines between reality and fantasy blur, where films flicker at 24 frames per second, we catch a glimpse of strangers’ dreams and nightmares. As David Lynch puts it, “This whole world is wild at heart and weird on top.” As Karen Head writes in her poem “Amnesia,” responding to Lynch, “In the movies / everything is illusion.” But with cameras everywhere, how do you know whether you’re in a movie? About the Editors:

Leaping at Thorns, a single author collection of horror short stories that explores the themes of complicity, entrapment, and conspiracy will see a new edition early in 2016. Also coming early in 2016 is a new edition of Reel Dark, an anthology of horror, science fiction, and dark fantasy stories and poems co-edited by L. Andrew Cooper and Pamela Turner that features a cinema theme. In May of 2016, L. Andrew's brand new collection of horror tales, Peritoneum will be launched.  Plans are being developed for a special launch event that will be announced in the near future. "We are very excited about having L. Andrew Cooper in the Seventh Star Press family," press representative Stephen Zimmer commented. "He is a highly gifted author, a very skilled editor, and has a scholarly command of the horror genre, not just in literature but in film as well. With sagacity and an imagination that is truly unbound, L. Andrew Cooper is going to be working some literary magic with Seventh Star Press in the near future!" For further information on L. Andrew's forthcoming releases and Seventh Star Press, be sure to visit www.seventhstarpress.com About L. Andrew Cooper: L. Andrew Cooper devotes extraordinary time to things provocative, scary, and strange. Works include novels Burning the Middle Ground and Descending Lines; short story collections Leaping at Thorns and Peritoneum (2016); non-fiction Gothic Realities and Dario Argento; co-edited fiction anthologies Reel Dark and Imagination Reimagined; and the co-edited textbook Monsters. After a decade studying literature and film at Harvard and Princeton—specializing in horror—he used his Ph.D. to teach about favorite topics from coast to coast in the United States, publish film criticism in academic and mainstream journals, and spend a year as the “film guy” on Louisville, Kentucky’s WDRB-TV. Having lived all over the U.S. (and travelled the world as much as possible, which is not enough), Cooper strives to be a global citizen, but he grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, an experience his readers encounter often. His global interests provide a never-ending supply of good horror movies as well as annoyance to his cat, Samara, who wishes Andrew and his partner James would just stay home.
